ARNOLD 'ARNY' BLAESING
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Arnold T. 'Arny' Blaesing, 82, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Lutheran Living.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. A time of food and fellowship will be held at Gannon Hall, 215 West Eighth Street, following the funeral service. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Ss. Mary & Mathias Parish or the Diabetes Foundation. Arny was born on January 14, 1935, the son of Edward and Clara Fuhlman Blaesing. He married Patricia Sander on July 15, 1956, at St. Mary Church in Muscatine.
He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp serving for three years.
He was a mason contractor and owned and operated for 53 years Arnold Blaesing Mason and Cement Contractor, a business he took over from his dad, Ed Blaesing. He enjoyed bowling, and spending time with his family including his grandson and great-grandson. He will be missed by his fishing and good buddy, 'Two Dollar', Larry Brossart. The family would also like to give special thanks to Mike Kleist, Traci Meade, and the many friends who remembered Arny.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Patricia Blaesing of Muscatine; one son, Tracy A. Blaesing and Traci Meade of Muscatine; one grandson, Jared Blaesing and wife, Tammie; one great-grandson, Greyson Blaesing; and one sister, Rosemary Bermel and husband, Albert.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Marcella Cirivello, Bernice Angell, and Arlene Bermel; and one brother, Gerald Blaesing.
