RUTH ANN BLACK
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Ruth Ann Wade Black, 66, of Muscatine, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, April 10, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospital's and Clinic's.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held at Pearl City Outreach following the committal service. Visitation will be from 1 until 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at the funeral home. Ruth Ann was born on January 17, 1951, in Muscatine, the daughter of Luke and Effie Irene Anderson Wade. She married Douglas Black on March 5, 1988.
She had worked for several medical institutions as a phlebotomist. She has been involved with the Jesus Mission. She loved to play cards, fish, clean, and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Douglas Black of Muscatine; three daughters, Gerianne Reichert and husband, Mitch, Paula Niaves and Julie Niaves and partner, Bryan Dobbins, all of Muscatine; nine grandchildren, Cheyanne Fisher, Anjel Niaves, Shayna Royas, Jena Fisher, Nasien Niaves, Manuel Rojas, Austin Reichert, Aura Niaves, and Jacey Lane; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Grace Dismer and Rev. Sharon Phillips, both of Muscatine, and Beth Meredith and husband, Jack, of Ohio; one sister-in-law, Carol Wade of Wilton; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, David "Luke" Wade in 2001; and two brothers-in-law, Ed Dismer and John Flickinger.
