MUSCATINE, Iowa - Earl F. Workman, 87, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at his home.
Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2017, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Grandview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at the funeral home where a Masonic Service will be held at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Shirley Workman.
Earl was born on July 2, 1929, in Muscatine, the son of Robert and Vivian V. Bennett Workman. He was a graduate of West Liberty High School. He married Shirley Stauffer on September 5, 1948, in Nichols.
He was a fire fighter for the City of Muscatine, he retired from Oscar Meyer after 23 years of employment, he then worked for Bosch Pest Control for 10 years, and also Trucks Unlimited.
Earl was a Mason for 50 years.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Shirley Workman of Muscatine; three daughters, Debbie Fuhlman and husband, Max, of Abilene, Texas, Susan Bauer of Windsor, Colorado, and Michele Wright and husband, Murry, of Muscatine; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Paulette Chapman of Muscatine.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Workman; his mother, Vivian Workman Chapman; his step father, Ralph Chapman; his brother, Edward Chapman; and sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Fred Lewis.

Shirley and family, So sorry for your loss. Prayers, Grace Steckman
As a kid, I would go camping with my grandparents Virgil and Nova Jarrett. We would play cards with Earl and Shirley. My prayers and condolences go out to Earl's family.

My dad, Clarence Ricketts, was very good friends with Earl and Shirley. I remember those days very well and time spent at their home. My condolences to Shirley and her family.
