MUSCATINE, Iowa - Mary M. Fuller, 88, of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at her home.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16, at St. Mathias Church. A time of food and fellowship will be held at Gannon Hall following the mass. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 until 6 p.m. on Monday, January 15, 2018, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, with a Rosary Prayer Service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish or Musser Public Library. Mary was born on February 25, 1929, in Ohio, Illinois, the daughter of George C. and Mary 'Abbie' Walter Fetzer. She graduated from Walnut High School, class of 1947. She married James P. Fuller on July 15, 1948, in Ottawa, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1978.
She was a salesperson at Glass Smart Shop for 13 years until the shop closed. She was a member of the Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish and volunteered at church taking first Friday communion to shut-ins, helping at two nursing homes with masses, and also served as calling chair on the funeral luncheon committee. She also belonged to the Sewing Circle and was also a volunteer at Musser Public Library.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons, James P. Fuller Jr. and wife, Christine, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, and Terrence J. Fuller and wife, Cara, of Muscatine; seven grandchildren, Michael Burke, Stacy Howard, Dan Fuller, Patrick Fuller, Jessica Pentecost, Taylor Fuller, and Rochelle Fuller; and six great-grandchildren, Samantha Burke, River Burke, Jacob Groce, Katilyn Groce, Wyatt Fuller, Jacob Fuller, Lucas Pentecost, and Emily Fuller.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her children, Anna Fuller on May 4, 1950, Dan L. Fuller on December 16, 1984, and Linda Kay Riegel on December 19, 1990; one brother, Casper Fetzer; and one brother and sister in infancy.
