MUSCATINE, Iowa - Michael John McMahon, 69, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Premier Estates.

A Celebration of life will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 from 4 until 7. Please join Mike's family and friends in lifting a glass and telling stories in his honor at the Rendezvous, 3127 Lucas Street, Muscatine. Knowing Mike, he would appreciate your punctuality.

Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Association.

Mike was born on November 4, 1948, in Oelwein, the son of Emmett and Mina Odekirk McMahon. He married Wanda Freitag on July 16, 1976.

Mike was a graduate of the University of Iowa with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. He worked for Mosebach, Griffith and Company for the majority of his career. He later merged with Clifton Gunderson before starting his own firm, Michael J. McMahon CPA's.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons and buddies. He also loved woodworking, gardening, and spending time on his tractor. Mike was intelligent, funny, organized, inquisitive, principled, dependable, and giving to a fault. His greatest accomplishment was providing the best possible life for his wife and two sons, who truly believe that he was a great man who led an adventurous life.

Those continuing to honor his memory include his wife, Wanda, of Muscatine; two sons, Wade McMahon, of Silverthorne, Colorado, and Shane McMahon and wife, Rachael, of Keller, Texas; two grandchildren, Caitlin and Ryan; one brother, Tom McMahon and wife, Gwen, of Cedar Rapids; three nieces, Christina Osborn, Cindy Dunham and husband, Andy, and Carrie Pumphry; and many grand nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Mary Eileen McMahon.

Wanda, boys and family was so deeply sorry to hear about the passing of Mike while I was at the Chart House tonight and ran into Donna. What a great guy Mike was. Truly enjoyed having him as our account for many years. His jokes were unending and his sense of humor touching. He will be missed by all who were lucky to have known him.
