Joe Kottenstette
COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa--Joseph 'Joe' Paul Kottenstette, 58, of Columbus Junction, died Sunday, January 22, 2012, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2012, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Columbus Junction. Inurnment will take place in Columbus City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2012, with a Rosary Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Arrangements are in the care of the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services of Columbus Junction.

Joe was born on August 21, 1953, in Ft. Madison, the son of John and Francella Blind Kottenstette. On July 29, 1978, Joe was united in marriage to Diana Meller in Dodgeville, Iowa.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Diana Kottenstette of Columbus Junction; his son, Mike Kottenstette and wife, Nicole, of Pella; daughters, Melinda Kottenstette of North Liberty, and Nancy Kottenstette and fiancé, Zachary, of Indianapolis, Indiana; one grandchild, Carsen Kottenstette of Pella; his mother, Francella Kottenstette of Lisbon; one sister, Judith Poduska and husband, Larry, of Lisbon; three brothers, Thomas Kottenstette and wife, Linda, of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Peter Kottenstette and wife, Carol, of Burlington, and Robert Kottenstette and wife, Katie, of Lucas, Texas; one sister-in-law, Bonnie Kottenstette of Tyler, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, James.
