Clarence 'Jim' Ellis Jr.
MUSCATINE, Iowa--Clarence 'Jim' Ellis Jr., 79, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at the Lutheran Homes Hospice in Muscatine.

Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the Ellis Barn.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2012, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society in memory of Jim.

Clarence J. Ellis was born on May 30, 1932, in Muscatine, the son of Clarence and Helen Ellis Sr. On January 25, 1952, Clarence was united in marriage to Virginia Sue Meyer. She preceded him in death.

From an early age Jim loved to sing and perform, this continued throughout his life. He sang with the Elks Chanters for many years as well as many weddings and events. He also loved hosting jam sessions in his barn where he would sing with the various musicians who attended. Jim was a lifelong resident of Muscatine.

He was employed in the customer service/management field. He retired from HON after 28 years of service.

He enjoyed bowling through the years and loved time with his friends and family. He also enjoyed various activities with his great friends, Jim and Cindy Midkiff.

Clarence will be deeply missed by his son, Dave Ellis; his daughter, Denise Wright; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sons, Jim and Thomas; and his daughter, Debbie.
