MUSCATINE, Iowa – Daisy Siler, 88, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Lutheran Living Senior Campus.

There will be no services. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Muscatine Human Society. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Daisy was born on September 30, 1935, in Winamac, Indiana, the daughter of Charles E. and Evelyn V. Freel. She married Richard Gene Siler on March 5, 1955, in Monterey, Indiana. He preceded her in death on April 30, 2021.

Daisy graduated from Monterey High School in 1953. She was employed by St. Joseph Valley Bank and Midwest Commerce Banking Company for 31 years, retiring in 1986 as Branch Manager and AVP. She was a previous member of Elkhart Credit Woman, Zonta Club, Northern Indiana Safe Deposit Association, National Association of Bank Woman, and Indiana Group. She also served as officer and board member of Cass County, Minnesota American Cancer Association for over 10 years.

Daisy retired to Leech Lake, Minnesota where she enjoyed snowmobiling and fishing with her husband for 26 years. Her and her husband, Richard got involved in ceramics, which they made and sold in 5 to 6 states, hitting craft shows for over 20 years in large malls and convention centers. They made a lot of friends along the way. She also loved when her family came to visit in Minnesota for long summer vacations and enjoyed many years of spending winters in Cocoa Beach, Florida. In 2012, when the lake house got to be too much work and too far away from family and doctors, Daisy and Richard moved to Iowa to be closer to her son and family.

She is survived by her son, Randal Siler and wife, Kathleen, of Muscatine; grandson Jeffrey Siler and wife, Sarah, of Muscatine; granddaughter Rebecca Siler Karr and husband, Eric, of Knoxville, Iowa; great grandchildren, Morgan Karr, Bryson Karr, Bristol Siler, and Rorie Siler; and four siblings, Pauline Hausz of Bonita Springs, Florida, Patsy Hardin of Florida, Charles W. Freel and wife, Barbara, of Indiana, and Betty Powell of Florida.

Daisy is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
