LINDA SUE PAHL

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Linda Sue Pahl, 78, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, peacefully at her home surrounded by her family after 4 years of battling cancer.

Celebration of life will be at the American Legion on Sunday, June 9, 2024 in the afternoon. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Linda was born on November 23, 1945, in McAlester, Oklahoma, the daughter of Howard William and Margaret Brown Capshaw. She married John Pahl on April 12, 1972, in Rock Island, Illinois.

Linda was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, and Quilts of Valor. She started working at Cheri Top in high school then went to work as a secretary at Carver Pump Company then later at Hayes Elementary School. Linda then worked at StarKist as an office manager then retired as an executive administrator at R.J. Carver Trust. She had the strongest work ethic which she modeled to her children.

Linda was very patriotic. She was a very accomplished seamstress, treasure hunter, and enjoyed metal detecting. Linda enjoyed collecting arrow heads, German porcelain dolls, and vintage art glass. Linda was an amazing baker who made everything from scratch, especially known for her delicious pies. She had a special relationship with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Linda always supported her children and was their #1 fan. She had a very strong sense of wrong and right and had a high degree of intuition. Linda would make friends with anyone and never knew a stranger. She was an amazing wife and wonderful mother.

Linda is survived by her husband, John; children, Cynthia Burr and husband, Brian, Kenneth Pahl, and Matthew Pahl and wife, Heather; grandchildren, Ellen, John, Beth, Lilah, Alexander, Abigail, and Edith; 7 great grandchildren; and siblings, Pat Clayton, and David Capshaw.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Saundra Kavanaugh; and grandma, Doshie Mae Capshaw.
