REN ALBERTO HERNANDEZ

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Ren Alberto Hernandez, 49, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the funeral home. Celebration of Life will be held following the visitation at the American Legion. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of Kristy Hernandez, for a future trust for Jett Hernandez. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Ren was born on August 15, 1974, in Brownsville, Texas, the son of Alberto G. and Beatrice Ramos Hernandez. He married Kristy Nicole Brown on May 15, 2020, in Muscatine.

Ren coached for the Muskie Baseball Academy. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys, Cubs, and Hawkeye fan. He enjoyed bowling and any sporting event. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his granddaughter. His life revolved around his children. He always attended Kaitlyn’s softball tournaments throughout the years and loved playing catch with Jett in the backyard all year round, not even snow stopped them. 

Ren is survived by his mother, Beatrice of Muscatine; wife, Kristy of Muscatine; children, Kaitlyn Bierman of Phoenix, Arizona and Jett Hernandez of Muscatine; granddaughter, Emmery Kay Johnson of Phoenix, Arizona; siblings, Roel Hernandez of Bettendorf, Iowa, Albert Hernandez of Bettendorf, Iowa, Rolando Hernandez of Muscatine, and Amy Quiroz and husband, Jesse, of Muscatine; brothers-in law, Gabe Brown and Chad Stuart both of Muscatine; father-in-law, Keith Brown of Melrose, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Alberto Hernandez; mother-in-law, Riva Lessenger Brown; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
