THOMAS FRANCIS NOLL

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Thomas Francis Noll, 88, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Addington Place.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Ss. Mary Mathias Catholic Church. The Reverend Chris Weber will officiate. Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Military services will be conducted by the Honor Guard of Muscatine County Inc.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Ss. Mary Mathias in honor of Tom. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Tom was born on October 24, 1935, in Muscatine, the son of William and Julia Byrne Noll. Tom was one of nine children. He was a 1954 graduate of the Muscatine Catholic High School. He married Marlene Joyce Lindemann on August 2, 1958, in Dewitt, Iowa. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last year.  

Tom was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a government sales contractor for Bendix/Litton in Davenport. Tom was a member of the Ss. Mary Mathias Parish, Knights of Columbus, and Elks Lodge. He also was a baseball coach for the little league.

Tom was always willing to help anyone with anything he could help with. He was always working on someone’s house. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He collected baseball hats, enjoyed fixing things, and loved traveling with Marlene. Tom was an avid Hawkeye fan. Most of all, he enjoyed being with his grandkids, especially going to their activities such as sports and musicals.

Tom is survived by his wife, Marlene, of Muscatine; children, Chris (Rick) Ney of Coralville, Mark (Nancy) Noll of Ankeny, Scott (Jane) Noll of Muscatine, Amy (Dave) Mertens of Missouri, Angie (Bruce) Hartman of Huxley, and Neil (Muffy) Bartelt of Fruitland; grandchildren, Meghann Ney, Catherine Ney, Michel (Matisse) Ney, Ross (Nhung) Noll, Jack (Jacque) Noll, Peter Noll, Anna Noll, Mollie Noll and fiancé, Colton, Colton (Kelsey) Mertens, Delani Mertens, Chelsea Mertens, Adam (Sarah) Mertens, Adysen Mertens, Emma Hartman and fiancé, Riley,  Sarah Hartman, and Haley Bartelt; great grandchildren, Racer, Beckett, Kallie, Kayden, Bo, Cale, and Keatyn; sisters, Julia “Judy” Strause and Maureen Pallischeck; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Morris (Anne) Noll, Mary (Jerry) Blaesing, Bill (Mary) Noll, Jack (Nadine) Noll, Katie (Robert) Chaudoin, and Robert (Darlene) Noll; and brothers-in-law, Robert Strause and Jim Pallischeck.
