WILLIAM ‘BILL’ D. TIECKE

MOUND VALLEY, Kansas – William ‘Bill’ D. Tiecke, age 66, of Mound Valley, KS, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at his home surrounded by family.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to an animal shelter of your choice, in Bill’s honor.

Mr. Bill Tiecke was born June 25, 1957, in Muscatine, IA, to Louis "Bud" and Dorothy Mae (Sheetz) Tiecke. He grew up in Muscatine, where he attended Colorado Elementary School, West Junior High, and the Muscatine High School. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Muscatine. He later moved to Lafayette, CO. In 1977, he met and later married Margi Howard. She survives at the home. They moved to Ketchum, OK, and then Joplin, MO, before settling in Mound Valley, KS in 1998.

He worked as a chef and later in industrial cleaning. He was an avid animal lover and loved music, cooking and his ten grandchildren. He lived, he tried, he died. TR.

Survivors of Bill Tiecke include: His wife, Margi Tiecke, of the home. Children, Justin Tiecke, Bryan (Tiffany) Tiecke and Brandon Tiecke. Ten grandchildren, Eathan, Caydence, Madisyn, Alexia, Hunter, Kaylynn, Patience, Rune, Kisa and Eralynn with a great-grandchild arriving soon. Siblings, Patricia Tiecke-Collins of Milan, Illinois, George Bryan of Lake Forest, California and Beth (Mike) Batenhorst of Muscatine, Iowa. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud Tiecke and Dorothy Shanks, and a brother-in-law, Al Collins as well as his beloved dog, Star.

The family of William Tiecke has entrusted the arrangement of the services to Zach and Dee Webb of the Zach Webb Family Funeral Service of Independence, KS.
