DAN GARMON

MUSCATINE, Iowa - Dan Garmon, 68, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2020, at his home.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2020, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. A private service will be held. Milo Herrick will officiate. Dan was born on November 17, 1951, in Ottumwa, the son of William Richard and Velma Marcene Parcel Garmon. He married Lori Chamberlin on August 29, 1975, in Muscatine.

He graduated from Muscatine High School in 1970 and later graduated from Kirkwood Community College. Dan was a longtime parts manager in the automotive industry and retired from Menards in 2019.

Dan loved his Indian motorcycle. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan. Dan played and coached men's slow pitch for at least 20 years. He enjoyed camping, watching old westerns, and attending Zion Lutheran men's bible study. Most of all, Dan loved spending time with this family.

Dan is survived by his wife, Lori of Muscatine; two children, Troy Garmon and his wife, Renae (Laviada), of Davenport, and Jami Alexander and her husband, Steven, of Muscatine; two grandchildren, Drew Garmon and his significant other, Angela Rozzell, and Kenzie Garmon and her significant other, Brenden Robinson; one great-grandson, Lorenzo Robinson; one brother Rich Garmon and his wife, Pat, of Muscatine; special cousins, Wayne and Debby Strause of Muscatine; two brothers-in-law, Doug Chamberlin and his wife, Mary, of Donna, Texas, and Jeff Chamberlin and his wife, Leah, of Des Moines; four sisters-in-law, Teri McManus and her husband, Barry, of Muscatine, Tami Pardie and her significant other, Gary, of Muscatine, Sheri Roeder and her husband, Roger, of Swisher, and Kari Rausenberger and her husband, Mike, of Muscatine; special friends, Bryan and Cheryl Little Sr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved dog, Duke.
