Gwendolyn Sours DAVENPORT - Gwendolyn I. Sours, 77, of Davenport, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, at Meadow Lawn Nursing Center in Davenport. Services were today at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary in Davenport. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island. Mrs. Sours was born on March 29, 1922, in Brighton, the daughter of Benjamin and Bessie Feitz Schumacher. She married Harry V. Sours on June 17, 1976, in Rock Island, Ill. He preceded her in death in 1993. She was employed as a school custodian for Davenport Public School System, for many years retiring in 1982. Survivors include five daughters, Paulette Beeding of Muscatine, Sharon Cole of Montpelier, Betty Johnson of Davenport, Jackie Sindt of Montpelier, and Susan Sours of Muscatine; a son, Paul Sours of Blue Grass; her mother Bessie Schumacher of Davenport; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and her father.
