Michael Brus HINCKLEY, Ill. - Michael V. Brus, 48, of Hinckley, Ill., formerly of Durant, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, Melrose Park, Ill. Services will be held at noon on Saturday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Durant. The Rev. C.H. Meyer will officiate. The organist will be Sue Voss. Pallbearers will be Jared Brus, Jason Brus, Tom Kostichek, Jack Kostichek, Andy Brus, John Brus, Steve Puck, Marvin Puck, Tony Wulf and Dick Siefers. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Bentley Funeral Homes in Durant and one hour prior to services at the church. A Loyal Order of the Moose service will be at 8 p.m. Friday. Memorials may go to the Life Care Center at Moose Haven, Orange Park, Fla. Mr. Brus was born on May 17, 1952, in Patuxent River, Md., the son of Melvin and Arleen Siefers Brus. He married Terry L. Ewoldt on Aug. 3, 1973, in Davenport. He served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. He was an Engine Test Technician in development and research at Navistar in Melrose Park. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge No. 28 in Davenport since 1973. He loved scuba diving and wood working. He was a fanatic about his lawn and trimming trees. He was an Elvis fan and collected Pepsi memorabilia. Survivors include his wife, Terry Brus of Hinckley, his parents Arleen and Melvin Brus of Walcott; two sons, Jared Brus and his fiance Jeanne Carroll of Ames, Jason Brus of Ames and his fiance, Shanna Owen of Big Rock, Ill.; a sister, Linda Kostichek and her husband, John, of Walcott; two brothers, John Brus and his wife, Lynn, of Stockton and Andrew Brus and his wife, Sue, of Walcott; and his father-in-law, Rudolph Ewoldt of Florida. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother-in-law, Darlene Ewoldt.
