ANTHONY MORGAN MUSCATINE, Iowa - Anthony 'Tony' R. Morgan, 39, of Muscatine, died Monday evening, September 24, 2007, at his home. Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2007, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Dewayne Hopkins will officiate the service. Honorary bearers will be Dan Cox, Mike Haller, Darren Abney, Brian Swanson, Jake Burkett, Brad Rowe and Dave Macholtz. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Anthony's Celebration of Life will be held at Moose Lodge following the Committal Service. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2007, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Tracie or to the ALS Society through MDA. Anthony was born on September 23, 1968, in Muscatine, the son of Ernest R. Morgan and Diane Kay Williams Carpenter. He married Tracie Meltzer on May 17, 2003, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked for Menasha Packaging Company in Muscatine. He was baptized in the First Christian Church in Letts. He belonged to the Quad City Metal Detecting Club. Anthony enjoyed metal detecting, collecting arrowheads and old coins. He was an avid football and hockey fan. Survivors include his wife, Tracie Morgan of Muscatine; one son, Nick Morgan of Grandview; one daughter, Kara Morgan of Grandview; his father, Ernest R. Morgan of Muscatine; his mother and step-father, Diane and Dennis Carpenter, of Muscatine; one brother, Ernie R. Morgan and wife, Darci, and their children, Austin Smith, E.J., Aaron, and Matthew Morgan, of Fruitland; four aunts, Twyla Vander Linden of Muscatine, Sherrill Hicklin of Orlando, Florida, Pat Splett and husband, Al, of Milton, Florida, and Mick Martin and husband, Jim, of Muscatine; his father and mother-in-law, Jim and Chris Meltzer of Muscatine; and one brother-in-law, Troy Meltzer and wife, Kerri, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and his children, JC, Tory, and Dakota Meltzer, of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by both his paternal and maternal grandparents.
