GARY LEE JENS, SR.
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Gary Lee Jens, Sr., 76, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Lutheran Living.

A Celebration of Life will be at a later date. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com. Memorials may be made to the family.

Gary was born on May 30, 1946, in Muscatine, the son of Loren E. Jens and Virginia L Airhardt Jens Honts. He was the owner/operator of Jens Fence Company. Gary loved his dogs, and going to the casino. He was a proud Army Veteran, having served in Vietnam, and was a long-time member of the American Legion.

Gary is survived by his children, Jody Hitchcock and her husband Kenton, Melissa Winter, Gary Jens Jr. and his wife Jessica, and Jessica Peck and her husband Myles; grandchildren, Caroline Peck, Austin Peck, Alisha Jens, Mia Martinez, Anthony Jens, Marcus Jens, Drake Winter, Whitney Winter, Kolton Hitchcock, and JR Nott and his wife Natalie; great-grandchildren, Caden Nott, Bryleigh Nott, Abel Nott, Rayna Nott, and Ezekiel Nott; siblings, Denny Jens and his wife Nancy, Randy Jens and his wife Janeen, and Dorothy Schmoldt; his closest friend, Joyce Viner; and his dog, Sophie.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Richard, Merle, Fred, and Donald; his great-granddaughter, Glady Nott; and his dog, Kendra.
