ETHEL L. ALLEN
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Ethel L. Allen, 97, of Toolesboro, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at the Rehabilitation Center of Lisbon.

A private graveside service will be held in Parsons Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Muscatine Humane Society. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com. Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ethel was born on November 29, 1925, in Muscatine, the daughter of Orbry Dale and Lydia Agnes Pauly Bryant. She married Minton Rollo Allen on September 8, 1945. He preceded her in death on July 31, 2002.

Ethel loved being with her family and nature. She enjoyed watching Notre Dame Football, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and the Green Bay Packers.

She is survived by her children, Sean Allen of Toolesboro, Kelly Allen of Cedar Rapids, Dave Allen of Riverside, Michael Allen of Toolesboro, and Pat Allen and wife, Joni, of Wapello; granddaughter, Denise Allen of Mediapolis; sister, Shirley Welker of Muscatine; and nieces and nephews.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Minton; daughter, Peggy Lee; granddaughter, Denien Allen; sisters, Florence Foster and husband, Melvin; Dorothy Miller and husband, Bernard; Virgie Buchanan and husband, Miller; Helen Bohling and husband, Cal; brothers, John Bryant and wife, Phylena; Art Bryant and wife, Carol; in laws, Robert Welker and June Bryant.

She was a faithful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. We would like to thank the Rehabilitation Center of Lisbon for their extraordinary care.
