I remember Uncle Larry being a proud man, not arrogant or smug, but proud of his family, his home, his farm, his motorcycles, and many more things that were important to him. I have so many fond memories growing up and spending time with Larry and his family since our families lived on neighboring farms. Memories of working on motorcycles and cars, he had a lot of knowledge to share. Uncles can be there when a nephew needs direction. They can listen and offer positive words. I remember Larry being quite the story teller and these stories were quite often told when Larry, my dad, my cousin Matt, my brother Doug, and myself would be working on a car or a project on one of our farms.
I'm sorry for your loss, and I hope you can find comfort in your faith those around you. You can shed tears that he is gone, which you should. You can also smile because he lived and shared himself with so many of us. I will remember the man in the photo with the bright cheerful smile.
