I’m so sorry to learn of your mother’s passing. Ray and Helen were such good friends. Your mom was a terrific cook and we had so many good meals and card games at there house. She is now with her Lord and reunited with her Ray. Rest in peace. Ken Gregersen

MUSCATINE, Iowa - Helen E. Stange, 92, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Lutheran Living Senior Campus.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at the Zion Lutheran Church. Reverend Willie Rosin and Reverend Susan Bantz will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Friends of the Pine Creek Grist Mill. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com
Helen was born on April 3, 1931, in Brooklyn, IA, the daughter of Dr. Earl and Mary Swartz Richman. She married Raymond H. Stange on April 15, 1951, at Zion Lutheran Church in Muscatine. He preceded her in death on December 14, 2018.
Helen was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. She graduated in 1949 from Muscatine High School where she really enjoyed working on the Auroran yearbook. She was an avid cook and baker, she planned and helped cook Lenten dinners at Zion Lutheran Church. Helen was a great organizer, perfectionist, and seamstress in her early days.
She created beautiful cross-stitch, enjoyed reading, and was deeply spiritual. Helen worked at the school administrative office and at Carlsons Florist. She worked as a mail reader for the residents at Lutheran Homes. Most importantly, she loved her family.
Helen is survived by her children, Craig Stange (Dianne), Scott Stange (Donald Sturms), and Sue Miller (Bruce); grandchildren, Kimberly Miller (Matt), Chris Stange (Eileen); great grandchildren, Corbin and Parker Stange, Alexander and Hannah Miller; and brother, Larry Richman (Gladys).
Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; parents; siblings, Willis, Pete, Ruth, Jane, Bob, and Dean in infancy.
