MUSCATINE, Iowa - Shirley Jean Swank, 83, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023, at Lutheran Living Senior Campus.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Chaplain Michael Le Buhn will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Swank, Jon Honts, Dale Tetmeyer, Tanner Honts, Maddox Tetmeyer, Jared Nielsen, and Dylan Curry. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Diller, Mackenzie Tetmeyer, Andrea Honts, Christin Swank, Brooklyn Tetmeyer, and Josh Anderson.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Muscatine United States Bowling Congress, in Shirley's honor. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Shirley was born on August 2, 1940, in Letts, the daughter of Roy E. and Dorothy E. Wagg Diller. She married Fred L. Swank Jr. on July 31, 1960, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1997.

Shirley was a graduate of Letts High School. She had a daycare in her home for many years. She was a member of the Muscatine USBC for 50 years, was the longest serving secretary of the Muscatine Women's Bowling Association and was a member of the Women of The Moose.

Shirley was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. She enjoyed to bowl and watch baseball, football, and Jordan Spieth play golf. She loved her grandson Tanner's dog, Haven, but especially her family.

She is survived by her children, Jeff Swank and wife, Natalie, and Robin Honts and husband, Jon; grandchildren, Mackenzie Tetmeyer and husband, Dale, Tanner Honts and wife, Andrea, Nicholas Swank, and Christin Swank; great grandchildren, Maddox and Brooklyn; brother, Jerry Diller and wife, Elaine; nieces, Cathy, Carrie, LouAnn, and Cindy; special friends, Jim and Delores Stecher, neighbors of 53 years; and her grand dog, Haven.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred; parents; brother, Ken Diller and his wife, Mary; and brother, Willard Wagg.

Robin and family..I am so sorry for the loss of your mother but so happy that I was able to see her when I was in Muscatine a few weeks ago. Your mom and dad and Nrl snd I became friends through bowling as you know and the 2 guys continued the friendship with duck hunting trips to the Muddy Miss. My thoughts and prayers remain with all of you as you adjust to your loss. Rest in Peace Shirley ❤️
