ALLEN EDWARD KILBERGER

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Allen Edward Kilberger, 80, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.

Memorial Service will be a graveside salute at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Greenwood Cemetery, immediately followed by a celebration of life at the American Legion. In lieu of flowers, the family asks people to donate what they wish to his grandson, Alex Taylor and his wife Ashleigh, to help with her Mediastinal Large B Cell Lymphoma Cancer recovery. Allen was born on June 22, 1944. Al was born in Cedar Rapids, IA and grew up on the family farm in Fairfax. With his deep family farm blood, he adored all animals, especially all the kittens and

puppies that touched his life throughout the years. He loved raising his champion pigs in 4-H. Additionally, this blood contributed to his strong work ethic, establishing his career as an accountant for the Kent Corporation through retirement. Al was united in marriage to Ramona “Mona” Norbie on November 29, 1968, in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on May 1st, 2001.

Al was a proud US Army veteran. He hung out with his close friends at the American Legion several times a week. He enjoyed playing cards and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes in any sport and of course, the Green Bay Packers with his dear friend, Shawn Rockey. He had a strong character and will be missed dearly. He was always willing to help everyone and tell them how to do things the Kilberger way which was always the right way. The world is a better place for having Al for this tiny bit.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mona; his parents, Edward and Rose; his brother-in-law, Ken; and his daughter-in-law, Holly. He is survived by special friend, Carolyn Wagner; his brothers, Gary (Pat) Kilberger, Eldon (Karen) Kilberger; his sister Ilene (Ken) Kitzman; his daughters, Janeen Lee (Rick Ball) and Michele (Keith) Cox; his son, Matthew (Holly) Kilberger; his grandchildren, Alex, Tim, Allison, Molly, Lucas, Kyle, Marigold, Elaina, and Ethan; and thirteen great grandchildren!
