AMANDA JANE LASKE

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Amanda Jane Laske, 54, of Muscatine, passed away on National Down Syndrome Day, Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Simpson Memorial Home.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, March 30, 2026, at the Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Susan Bantz will officiate. Burial will take place immediately following the service in Greenwood Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com

Amanda was born on October 23, 1971, in Muscatine.

She graduated from Muscatine High School and worked at Crossroads for 20 years. She enjoyed working at the library and ringing the bell for the Salvation Army at Hy-Vee. She was the captain of the Special Olympics Cheer Team, winning many gold medals. Amanda enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, coloring with markers, reading books, parades, swimming at the YWCA, dance classes and recitals, and loved kittens. She was a huge fan of I Love Lucy, the Frozen movies, and Elvis, visiting Graceland seven times.

Amanda loved everyone and everyone loved her. She was our beloved Angel with a Heart of Gold. She was the light of our life and will be greatly missed.

Special thanks to the care and love she received at Simpson Memorial Home, along with the love, care, and support provided by St. Croix Hospice. She was considered a part of the family from the loving residents and empoloyees at Simpson Memorial.
