ARLENE FRANCIS MURRAY

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Arlene Francis Murray, 78, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Davenport Lutheran Home.

Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the American Legion Post #27, 110 S. Houser Street, Muscatine. Memorials may be made to the family. Burial will be at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery, per her wishes. The Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online Condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com

Arlene was born on June 26, 1947, in Sandwich, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur and Dorothy Mitchell Havekost.

She retired from HNI after 40 years. She was a member of Women of the Moose, American Legion, Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, and V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, where she was department president from 2014-2015. Arlene also helped out with the local Boy Scouts.

Arlene is survived by her son, Larry Murray; two grandchildren, Nicholas Murray and Quinn Murray; and brothers, Wes Havekost and wife, Pat, and Jim Havekost and wife, Arlene.

She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John Havekost and Ronald Havekost.
