BARBARA J. CROSLEY

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Barbara J. Crosley, 84, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Trinity Rock Island.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the funeral home. Pastor Kayla Lange-Carney will officiate. Burial will take place in Oakland Cemetery at a later date. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Barbara was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, on January 27, 1941, the daughter of Clarence and June Howell Crosley. She grew up in Ft. Madison, Iowa. She graduated from Ft. Madison High School and the New Orleans Barbizon School of Modeling. After graduation from Barbizon, she began her career as a model, modeling instructor, and recruiter for Barbizon New Orleans, LA. She relocated to Baton Rouge, LA and was a Louisiana State employee for twenty years, and a Walgreens employee for more than 10 years.

In 1996, Barbara opened a visual arts studio, Kids Can Draw, Baton Rouge, LA for young artists. Her passion was art and teaching visual arts to children and adults. In 2020, she relocated to Muscatine, Iowa to be closer to family.

She is survived by her beloved children, David ‘Jake’ Jacobsmeier (Stephanie) of Sedalia, MO, Theresa Matlick of Palmyra, MO, and Lisa Snodgrass of Quincy, IL; one sister, Debra Hughes (Doug) of Muscatine, IA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; Nieces, Andrea Raffensperger (Dave) of Iowa City, and Allison Hall (Bob) of Iowa City; and special friend, Harry ‘Sam’ Polack of McKinney, TX.
