BETTY LOU BLAKE
MUSCATINE, Iowa – Betty Lou Blake, 79, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at OSF – Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at the Fruitland Community Center from 2:00 pm until 6:00 p.m. The Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
Betty was born on May 21, 1946, in Muscatine, the daughter of Cecil and Thelma See Stauffer.
Betty found great joy in attending her children’s and grandchildren’s events, and she enjoyed the time spent traveling, visiting the casino, and playing cards. She was also a familiar face at local flea markets, where she took great pride in her work as a vendor. Above all, Betty was known for being a devoted sister to her siblings and a loyal friend to many.
Those left to honor her memory include her children Jana Danz and her husband Mike, Jeff Blake and his wife Danielle, and Samantha Kaufmann and her husband, Bill; grandchildren, Jayde Muller and her husband Tim, Blake Brossart, Kaiden Peterson, Jaycob Blake, Gavin Blake (Ashley Madison), Rylee Blake (Jordan Johnson), Emma Blake (Brandon Gamelin), Brianna Blake, and Brady Blake; Great grandchildren, Oliver and Lukas Muller, Irelia Gamelin, and Emryn Blake; Siblings, Linda Papenheim and her husband Gary, Nancy Smith and her husband, James, Donnie Stauffer and his wife Deb, Judy Rebmann, Shirley Workman and her husband, Earl, and Tom Stauffer and his wife, Ruth; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Jayson Blake; brothers, Richard Stauffer and James Stauffer; and her sister Barbara Harrison.
