BRENDA JOYCE DAY

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Brenda Joyce Day, 79, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, in Muscatine, Iowa.

Private graveside services will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joshua Day, Matthew Day, Jonathan Day, Christopher Day, Braeden Cina, Robert Day, and Scott Day. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital, Muscatine Humane Society, or Shriners Hospital for Children. Brenda was born on March 30, 1946, in Muscatine, to Lyle Edward and Violet June (Gatton) Krueger. She married Michael Luthern Day on January 11, 1964, at the Musserville Methodist Church in Muscatine.

Brenda worked as a button worker, in the ironing board factory, at Gremmels Wholesale and JC Penney, and as a school custodian for many years. She retired from the Muscatine School District in 2002. Brenda loved to crochet, tend to her flower garden, going to the movies, and spending time with family and friends.

Brenda is survived by her two sons, Robert ‘Bob’ Day and his wife, Stephanie, of Muscatine and Scott Day and his wife, Diane, of Muscatine; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Jonathan, Britt, Jessica, Christopher, and Hailey; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Marcia (Jim) Rocky of Columbus Junction; and two brothers, Lyle E. Krueger (Robin) and Mike Krueger, all of Muscatine.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
