MUSCATINE, Iowa – Cali Miranda Portillo, 26, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Crestview Specialty Care.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Alecia Hilmer will officiate. Cali was born on August 5, 1998, in Muscatine, the daughter of Wenceslao Portillo and Mary Magdalena Hernandez Portillo.

Cali graduated from West High School in Iowa City, Iowa in 2016. She attended Kirkwood Community College. Cali loved spending time with her friends and family. Her favorite things to do were movie nights, playing video games, reading graphic novels, singing and listening to music, going camping with Jessica, collecting “stuffies”, family pets, and celebrating the holidays.

Cali is survived by her father, Wenceslao of Mexico; sister, Mea Lei Hernandez of Kansas; grandparents, David and Mary Hernandez of North Liberty, Iowa; uncles, Jesse Hernandez (Elaine) of North Liberty, Iowa and Daniel Hernandez (Christina) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; aunts, Tina Hernandez-Zudell (Ryan) of North Liberty, Iowa, Linda Chavez of Muscatine, and Katarina Hernandez Mendoza (Mauricio) of North Liberty, Iowa; extended family members; and special friends, Jessica, Eric, Rachel, Heather, and Brittany.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Maggie, and great grandmother, Ernestina Garcia Hernandez.
