CAROLE M. JAMES

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Carole M. James, 82, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the University of Iowa.

Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at the Spring Valley Bible Camp Lodge, 2858 180th St. Muscatine, Iowa. Carole was born on July 6, 1943, in Muscatine, the daughter of William ‘Buck’ and Mary Weikert Kincaid.

Carole graduated from the Hayes Catholic High School. She retired as an attendance secretary from West Jr. High. She was a member of the Ss. Mary and Mathias Catholic Church.

Carole enjoyed going to the casino and scratching off lottery tickets. She enjoyed her pastries and coffee, Pepsi, and strawberry lemonade. She enjoyed listening to music, reading, and watching Jeopardy. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Carole is survived by her children, Christine McAnelly of Muscatine, Matthew James and his wife, Carla, of Walcott, Natalie Swank and her husband, Jeff, of Muscatine, and Jason James of Muscatine; grandchildren, Rylan McAnelly of Muscatine, Zachary James and his wife, Hayley, of Davenport, Dakota James of Buffalo, Austin Wagner of Muscatine, Logan Boardrow and her husband, Matt, of Muscatine, Ryne Wagner of Muscatine, Christin Swank of Muscatine, Morgan James of Davenport, Christian James of Letts, and Jordan James and her fiancée, Daniel Rada, of Muscatine; great grandchildren, Paisley McAnelly, Johnathan James, Alaska James, Rowen Gann, Winona Boardrow, Gage James, Macy Chitwood, Ruby Chitwood, Holdyn James, Isabella Salazar, Alexia Gaytan, and Edison Rada; brother, Anthony ‘Tony’ Kincaid and his wife, Linda, of Muscatine; and numerous nephews and cousins.

Carole is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, and nephew, Benjamin Kincaid.
