CAROLYN S. RIEDEL
MUSCATINE, Iowa – Carolyn S. Riedel, 64, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.

Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Pam Saturina will officiate. Memorials may be made to American Liver Foundation. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Carolyn was born on April 23, 1959, in Muscatine, the daughter of Robert H. and Verna Mae Benson Wilson. She married Dennis Riedel on July 11, 1981, in Muscatine.

Carolyn enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling, and writing short stories and poems. She devoted her life to others and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her children and grandchildren.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Dennis Riedel of Muscatine; three children, Sarah Alwine and husband, Rick, and their daughter, Eleanor, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Matthew Riedel and wife, Grace, and their expected baby boy in August, of Austin, Texas, and Steven Riedel and wife, Megan, and their children, Emerson, Oliver, and Finley, of Charleston, South Carolina; and one brother, Harold C. Wilson and wife, Judy, of Muscatine.

She is preceded in death by her father in 1981, and mother in 2004.
