CARRIE SUE BEHRENS

MUSCATINE, Iowa –Carrie Sue Behrens, 61, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Lutheran Living Senior Campus.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Mulford Evangelical Free Church. Pastor Tye Male will officiate. There will be no visitation. After the service, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hidden Acres Christian Center. The Ralph J. Carrie was born on February 7, 1964, in Iowa City, the daughter of Henriette H. Behrens Costas. She graduated from Muscatine High School and received her Associate of Arts Degree from Muscatine Community College. Most recently, Carrie was a special needs caregiver and worked at her church a few hours a month.

She was an active member of Mulford Evangelical Free Church, where she faithfully served as an AWANA leader, Kids Camp helper, local mission team member, and was involved in Ladies’ Bible Study and Truth Singers. Carrie also enjoyed playing games, painting, crafts, and attending events at Hidden Acres Christian Center in Dayton, Iowa. She loved dogs and cared for many over the years. Carrie will be remembered by all as a joyful and devoted follower of Christ. She was a friend and bright light to everyone she met.

Carrie is survived by her aunt, Kathy Behrens Brown and husband, Don, of Muscatine, and seven cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Henry J. and Helen Wicky Behrens; her mother; two uncles, David and Harold Behrens; and one aunt, Judy Gillespie.

Carrie’s family and friends are thankful to the Lutheran Living Chaplain, nurses, and staff, and Hospice Compassus for their great care. Thank you to Carrie’s close family and friends who spent countless hours visiting and praying for her.
