CESAR VARGAS

MUSCATINE, IA – Cesar Vargas, 57, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Lutheran Living.

Graveside Service will be at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Greenwood Cemetery. The Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Cesar was born on January 11, 1969, in Brownsville, Texas, the son of Odilon and Adelina Guevara Vargas.

Cesar had been working at Walmart for several years and was a hard worker. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Dallas Cowboys fan. He was extremely brave and always pushed through any obstacles. He didn’t realize how he impacted people but would bring a smile to everyone he knew. He was the youngest of 12 kids, was observant, and learned from other people’s mistakes growing up. He loved his family more than anything.

Cesar is survived by his siblings, Elvira, Lupita, Maggie, Federico, and Odilon Jr. and his longtime friend, Natalie Wheeler.

Cesar is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Juanita; and brother, Rudolfo.
