MUSCATINE, Iowa – Connie Jo Theobald, 66, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024, at her home.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Susan Bantz will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Legion Auxiliary. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Connie was born on April 14, 1958, in Muscatine, the daughter of Marvin A. and Betty Phillips Rinnert. She married Don Bermel, they later divorced. She then married Dennis Theobald on March 25, 2000, in Muscatine.

She graduated from Muscatine High School in 1976 and worked for Monsanto for over 30 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Quilts of Valor. Connie enjoyed making masks for people during the covid pandemic and helping with Yellow Ribbon events for soldiers. Working with flowers in the yard and wintering with her husband in Florida. Connie loved being with her grandchildren.

Connie is survived by her husband, Dennis Theobald of Muscatine; her mother, Betty; son, Christopher Bermel and wife, Catherine, of Canal Fulton, Ohio; three grandchildren, Amelia, Julia, and Malcolm Bermel; two sisters, Janet Fry and her husband, Louie and Barb Reesink and her husband, John.

She was preceded in death her father, Marvin; brothers, Dean Rinnert and Dennis Rinnert; two children, Brian and Sarah Bermel; and infant sister, Donna Rinnert.
