COREY WILLIAM MIER

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Corey William Mier, 49, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at home.

Visitation will be from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m., on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Private burial will take place in Grandview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com

Corey was born on November 1, 1976, in Iowa, the son of Gregory Mier and Julia Tietge Bass.

He was a welder at Allsteel for more than 20 years.

Corey enjoyed playing pool, darts, and poker, and was a dedicated fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears and Iowa Hawkeyes. He wrestled in his youth, remained active in many sports, and was known by all as a very giving and loving person.

He is survived by his son, Cody Mier; mother, Julia Bass and husband, Lowell; father, Greg Mier and wife, Pam; three grandchildren, Rylee Edmondson, Colton Mier, and Raylyn Mier; one sister, Bethany Fry and husband, Brad; stepsiblings, Todd Bass, Julie Tate, Tyler Whalen, and Tara Baker; Uncle, Donnie; aunts, Sheri and Roxie; nephews Garrett Cook and Wyett Cook; and a great nephew, Garrett Benjamin Cook.

Corey is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
