CORRINE ELOISE MARX

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Corrine Eloise Marx, 96, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the Pearl City Place.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Cindy Axtell will Officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Musserville United Methodist Church or a charity of choice. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com

Corrine was born on October 1, 1928, in Muscatine, the daughter of George Emmett and Dorothy Downey Cozad. She married Harold R. Marx on August 22, 1951, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death on January 30, 2008.

Corrine was a 1946 graduate of the Muscatine High School. After high school, she worked for two years as a secretary for AA Johnson, the superintendent of Muscatine Schools. She then worked in the accounting department at Grain Processing Corporation for 30 years. She was a very active member of the Musserville United Methodist Church and was involved in many of the church groups and served as secretary and treasurer.

She and Harold enjoyed traveling and camping, especially going to Branson, Missouri to see the entertainment. After Harold’s death, she made a very generous donation to the Muscatine High School District Foundation for high school senior scholarships for further certifications, trade school, or academic endeavors. Her donation was in honor of Harold’s lifetime commitment to the Muscatine School System.

Corrine is survived by the families of Robert Cozad, Clifford Cozad, Colleen Cozad LaRue, and Florine Cozad Ramer.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; two brothers, Robert Cozad and Clifford Cozad; two sisters, Colleen LaRue and Florine Ramer; and an infant sister, Edna.
