DALE EMERSON SHOPPA

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Dale Emerson Shoppa, 92, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at UnityPoint Health Trinity.

Graveside Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Greenwood Cemetery. Pastor Susan Bantz will officiate.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at the Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com

Dale was born on February 14, 1934, in Muscatine, the son of Lloyd and Myrle M. Hill Shoppa. He married Kathy Sell on June 27, 1965, in Muscatine.

Dale had a wide variety of interests, including a passion for clocks, old engines, tractors, model cars, and woodworking. He particularly enjoyed attending Old Thrashers, as well as flea markets and auctions. Above all, he was a devoted family man at heart.

Dale is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Timothy Dale (Celeste) Shoppa, Gregory P. Shoppa, Jane A. (Craig) Reischauer, and Andrew J. Shoppa; grandchildren, Fiona, Bailey, Clara, Charles, and Rosalie; and siblings, Peggy Olson, Leona Gundrum, Gary Shoppa, and Rosemary Harder.

Dale preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Scott A. Shoppa; and siblings, Wayne, Wally, Russell, and Darlene Jarrett.
