DANIEL PAUL KRAKLOW

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Daniel Paul Kraklow, 93, of Muscatine, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Accura.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Chapel of Praise. A time for food and fellowship will follow the burial at the church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to Chapel of Praise Church or to the family, in care of Melanie.

Daniel was born on May 19, 1932, in Milan, Illinois, the son of Carl A. and M. Helen Sievers Kraklow. He married Ann M. Van Gent on September 20, 1952, she preceded him in death on November 27, 1985. He married Melanie McKee on August 4, 1989.

He was a member of Chapel of Praise Church, a 4-H Leader, Sunday school teacher, on the Missionary Board, and a Veteran in the United States Army.

Daniel lived a devoted Christian life, centered on his faith in the Lord. He was a creative and sociable individual who never met a stranger. Known for his deep compassion, he found great joy in helping others and was always willing to give whatever he could to make someone happy.

Above all, Daniel loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also had a passion for life's simple pleasures, including attending church, fishing, gardening, carpentry, and playing softball.

He is survived by wife, Melanie Kraklow of Muscatine; four children, Mike Kraklow (Martha Vredenburg) of Arizona, Diane Winegard of Muscatine, Tammy (Jeff) Hartley of Muscatine, and Mike (LeeAnn) Rankins of Muscatine; Grandchildren, Tasha (Matt) Phillips; Matt (Amanda) Winegard, Eric Slater, Chelsea (Drew) Freie, Samantha (Kyle) Bass, Kierra Rankins, Brooke Batha, Summer (Austin) Klemesrud, Chris (Michelle) Wibe, Stephen (Tina) Wibe; several great grandchildren; one sister, Darlene Schmidt; and special friend, Owen Metzger.

He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ann; son-in-law, Chad Winegard; and siblings, Duane Kraklow, Allan Kraklow, Dave Kraklow, Carl Kraklow, Grace Hepner, and Marge Baker.
