DAVID LEROY BROCKERT SR.

MUSCATINE, Iowa – David Leroy Brockert Sr., 87, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at his home.

Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, in Island Cemetery. Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the Fruitland Baptist Church, 5715 67th Ave W, Muscatine, Iowa, potluck style. Dave was born on January 28, 1939, in Muscatine, the son of Ernest ‘Jiggs’ and Marie Finely Brockert. He married Judine Brewer on March 4, 1978, in Muscatine. She preceded him in death on August 6, 2020.

Dave retired from HON at the age of 55.

Dave enjoyed going to church and potlucks. He loved yard and estate sales and working on his mower was his passion. He loved spending time with his family and his dog, Bruno.

Dave is survived by his children, Dave (Renee) Brockert, Leslie (Alicia) Brockert, Shelby (Tim) Riley, and Melissa (Robert) Zuniga; 10 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; brother, Charles (Nadine) Brockert; and sister, Lucille LaRue.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judine; brothers, James Brockert, Phillip Brockert, and Thomas Brockert; sisters, Pauline Harris, Marian Stauffer, Evelyn Helm, Louis Herr, and Dorothy Strauss; and granddaughter, Alice Hesford.
