DAVID HORTON

MUSCATINE, Iowa – David Proctor Horton, 59, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Genesis East.

The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Per David's wishes, there will be no services. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of his wife Teresa. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com.         

David was born on July 24, 1965, in Muscatine, the son of Gail and Patricia L. Huttenstine Horton. He married Teresa L. Grubaugh on August 4, 1984. They just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

He graduated in 1983 from Muscatine High School. He worked at Louis Rich and later as a diesel mechanic.

David enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. He loved going to wrestling events with his daughter Jennifer, and truly enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved animals, finding many strays loving and caring homes. 

David is survived by his wife, Teresa of Muscatine; two daughters, Jennifer Horton and Suzzanne Pace and husband, Nathaniel, both of Muscatine; one grandson, Zeven Pace; two step grandsons, Aaron Pace and Brock Pace; his father, Gail Horton of Muscatine; and two siblings, Teresa Warshefski and husband, Steve, of Michigan, and Randy Jones and wife, Linda, of Muscatine. 

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, and his mother in 2010.
