MUSCATINE, Iowa – Delores Vernon, 86, of Muscatine, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026, at Trinity Rock Island.

Delores was born on June 7, 1939, in South Dakota, the daughter of William and Mary Wilcox Wagner. She married Harry Vernon in North Dakota.

She was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and retired from Louisa-Muscatine School System.

Delores was often called ‘Grandma’ by all. She enjoyed camping, gardening, and was a beautiful seamstress and quilter. She loved animals and spending time with her family.

She will be missed by her husband, Harry Vernon of Muscatine; her daughter, Vikki Snell and husband, David, of Muscatine; one grandson, Barry Snell and wife, Deborah, of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and several nieces and nephews.

Delores is preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Tracy Vernon, and Roger Vernon and wife, JoAnn; sister, Darlene; and three brothers, Raymond, Maynard, and Leonard.
