MUSCATINE, Iowa – Donald F. Frieden, 77, of Muscatine, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at his home.

Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025, at First Christian Church with full Military Rites by the Muscatine County Honor Guard at church after the service. Pastor Marcy Heil will Officiate. Private burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. A time for food and fellowship will be held immediately following the service at First Christian Church. Don was born on October 24, 1947, in Muscatine, the son of O. Floyd Frieden and Frances Miller Frieden. After graduating from Rockridge High School, he entered the US Navy and served 4 years aboard the USS Duluth during the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage to Sherrie A. Buelow in 1968. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church and later became a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, serving as Deacon and board chair. He worked at Grain Processing for 35 years, retiring in 2004. He enjoyed his grandchildren and golfing. He was a pitcher for the church’s softball team and city league. He carried with him a love for farming. His family grew sugar cane and made sorghum.

Don will be deeply missed by his wife, Sherrie of Muscatine; sons, Michael D. Frieden (Lynn Ann Harvey) and David J. Frieden (Rachel Frieden); three grandchildren, Andrew Carl, Olivia Dawn, and Davie Elizabeth. Surviving one brother, James E. Frieden and his wife, Leanne; sisters, Donna Anderson and Mary Frieden; and brother-in-law, Patrick Beason.

He was proceeded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Ronald F. Frieden; brother, John E. Frieden; and sisters, Doris E. Frieden and Jeanne L. Beason.
