MUSCATINE, Iowa – Dorothy Cross, 72, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, Trinity UnityPoint, Muscatine.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 p.m., on Monday, February 16, 2026, at the Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Sharon Phillips will officiate. Burial will take place in Drury Reynolds Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Visitation will be from 11:00 until 12:30 p.m., on Monday, February 16, 2026, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Christy Burns.

Dorothy was born on July 24, 1953, in Muscatine, the daughter of Hubert and Lila Dietrich Failyer. She married Harold Cross Sr. on October 31, 1981, in Memphis, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 25, 2005.

She enjoyed vacations, camping, traveling to Galveston, Texas, the beach, diamond art, special occasions, having a jack and coke, going out to eat, stock car races, and spending time with her family.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Christy Burns and husband, Roger, Tera Brockert and husband, Scott, Sherry Cross, and Kandice Blick and husband, Joseph; grandchildren, Jonathon Erickson, Tanner Brockert, Erica Brockert, Gabrial Burns, Alyssa Burns, Troy Cross, Tonya Harmon, Matthew Harmon, Amy Harmon, Ralph Brewer, Austin Wilhelm, Dillon Maxfield, Wesley, Ashley Blake, Alex Blick, Jason Miller, Michael Miller, Jacob Miller, Marcus Miller, Adam Marsh, April LaRue, Christy Woodward, and Mckenzie Hiller; many great grandchildren; four siblings, Bill Failyer, Fred Failyer and wife, Lynn, Patti Hetzler, and Rose Bodman and husband, Rick; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Harold Cross Jr.; and grandson, Michael Phillips.
