ERNEST LeROY CLESTER SR.

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Ernest ‘Ernie’ LeRoy Clester Sr., 81, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Premier Estates.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, October 11, 2024, in Greenwood Cemetery. Military services will be conducted by the Honor Guard of Muscatine City Inc.  A time of food and fellowship will be held at the American Legion immediately following the service. The Ralph J. Ernie was born on October 4, 1942, in Muscatine, the son of Lester Leo and Velma Alice Nichols Clester.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Germany and worked at Carver Pump.

Ernie enjoyed fishing, listening to music, video games, and Pepsi. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye, Chicago Cub, Chicago Bear, and NASCAR fan.

Ernie is survived by his four children, Tonya Bierman and husband, Rodney, Ernest ‘Leroy’ Clester Jr., Amanda Newsom, and Tyson Clester, all of Muscatine; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two siblings, Gary Clester of Muscatine, and Debbie Fetters and husband, Dave, of West Liberty; sister-in-law, Connie Clester of Muscatine; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and two siblings, Everett Clester and Linda Rhodes.
