GERALDINE FERNE STEINKE

MUSCATINE, Iowa - Geraldine Ferne Steinke (Gigi), 93, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at home surrounded by her family.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Mary Dahl. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Geraldine was born on March 27, 1930, in Hedrick, Iowa, the daughter of Vanderbilt and Mary Effie (Derby) Paxton. She married Edwin Paul Steinke on March 18, 1951, at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 27, 1976.

Geraldine played the organ, and she had a beautiful soft voice, she would wake her kids in the morning with an uplifting song.

She took pride in being a twin with Gerald. She had triplets of her own and twin granddaughters. She enjoyed playing games and visiting over coffee. Most importantly, she loved being with her family.

Geraldine is survived by her daughter-in-law, Karen Steinke; children, Mary Dahl (Steve) of Muscatine, Sherri Clements (David) of Letts, Sandra Williams of Muscatine, Pam Casey (Greg Brase) of Muscatine, Joe Steinke (Estela) of Muscatine, and triplets: Donna Steinke (Mark Kirby), Donald Steinke (Margo), and Ronald Steinke (Sheila) all of Muscatine; grandchildren, Kara Steinke (Chris Grady), Amanda Krenz, Laura Steinke, Kristy Rogers (Aaron), Kimberly Dahl, Melissa Jordan, Sommer Harmon (Adam), James Williams (Jessica Smith), Brad Amos (Ayesha), Maricel Agno (Joni), Edwin Steinke (Kacey), Donald Jerome Steinke (D.J), Ashton Phillips (Mike), Chloe Salas (Blas), Madelynn Steinke, Lux Steinke, and Derek Steinke (Mercedes); great grandkids, Hayley, Garrett, twins: Leah and Keely, Raven, Zoe, Drew, Tavion, Lauriana, Elouise Fern (Lulu), Macy, David, Everly, Keaton, Landon, Annie, Abby, Jason, Christian, Isabelle, John, Jasmine, Joshua, Bennett, Rydge, Keirci, Malachi, Piper, Livian, Norah, and Loran; and great-great grandkids, Brantley, Rhett, Carver, Ezra, and Colt.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; parents; son, Dennis Steinke; siblings, Verle, Merle, Leona, Bernadine, Kenneth, Clare, Donald, Cloyd, and twin brother Gerald; and son-in-law, Delbert Lee Williams.
