HAROLD ‘NICK’ WILLIAM OGILVIE JR.

MUSCATINE, IA - Harold ‘Nick’ William Ogilvie Jr., 85, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Lutheran Living Senior Campus.

A private burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Nick was born on December 6, 1940, in Muscatine, the son of Harold W. Sr. and Jessamine Pain Ogilvie. He married Jane Potter on September 30, 1960 in Muscatine. Together, they celebrated more than 65 years of marriage.

Nick graduated from Muscatine High School in 1958. He attended the University of Iowa for two years prior to graduating with a bachelors degree from Parsons College. He retired after a 38-year banking career as the Vice President of First National Bank of Muscatine.

He was an active and dedicated member of the community, serving on numerous boards, including the United Way and Salvation Army. He was also involved with the Muscatine Kiwanis Club, Elks Chanters, Elks Lodge, and was a Mason of the 32nd Degree. He was a longtime member of Geneva Golf and Country Club and Wesley United Methodist Church.

Nick was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who cherished spending time with his family and attending all of his grandchildren’s events and activities. He also enjoyed playing golf, skiing in Colorado, wintering in Florida with his wife Jane, and entertaining for friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Ogilvie; three children, Debbie (Jeff) Snyder, Sarah (Brian) Wood, and John (Lorna) Ogilvie; five grandchildren, Aaron (Kathryn) Snyder, Alex (Kasey) Snyder, Laura Wood, James (Paetyn) Wood, and Isobel (fiancé D.J. Middleton) Ogilvie and four great grandchildren, Ethan, Noah, Millee, and Ella.

Nick is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Thomas Ogilvie, Joyce Kemper, and infant sister, Nadine Ogilvie.
