Muscatine – Harold (Sonny) Wagner Pace, 94, of Muscatine, passed away on October 08, 2025 at Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty, Iowa.

Services will be held on at 11:00am Monday, October 13, 2025 at Wittich Riley Freers Funeral Home in Muscatine, Iowa.  Visitation will be prior to the funeral service, beginning at 9:30am.

Burial will take place in Harker Cemetery following the service.  Family and friends are invited to gather for a luncheon at Community of Christ church, 2607 Bidwell, Muscatine, IA following internment. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Harold W Pace was born on July 18, 1931 in Muscatine, to Harold E. and Evelyn (Wagner) Pace.  He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints / Community of Christ.  

Sonny graduated from Muscatine High School in 1949 and was united in marriage to Barbara Kathleen Freers on March 22, 1953 at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Muscatine.  He lived his entire life farming in the Sweetland area.  He was also a school bus driver for 10 years with the Muscatine School District and retired from the US Postal Service after 35 years of service.  He was a long-time collector and enthusiast of antique Massy Harris farm equipment, and exhibited tractors at the Midwest Old Threshers Reunion for several years.

Those left to honor his memory include daughters Deboraha (Carroll) Howard of Muscatine, Sally (David) Sallee of Wilton, and sons Tim (Konnie) Pace of Muscatine and Andrew Pace of Cedar Rapids, brothers Harlan Pace of Northlake, IL and David (Valerie) Pace of Roseville, MN.  He is also survived by grandchildren Jennifer Howard, Britnae’ (Tim) Charlett, Adam Howard, Zac (Jesse) Pace, Raymond Sallee, Tammy Donaldson, Tim (Patti) Sallee and Sarah (Larry) Dickerson, 11 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife Barbara in 2019, his parents, step-mother Jean Stiff Pace, step-sisters Carol Stiff Anderson and Dorothy Jean Stiff Tague and great-granddaughter Samantha Sayre.
