JAMES DANIEL SOBOLIK (JIMMY)
MUSCATINE, Iowa – James Daniel Sobolik (Jimmy), 76, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at the University of Iowa.
There will be no services. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Paula. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
James was born on July 18, 1949, in Charles City, Iowa, the son of Leroy and Dolores Daily Sobolik. He married Paula Terry Allison on October 4, 2008, at their home, in Nichols, Iowa.
James worked as a service representative for Pitney Bowes for over 25 years. He served four years in the United States Navy. He was a member of the West Liberty Country Club for 15 years.
James was an avid golfer with his wife. In his younger years, he enjoyed deer hunting. He also enjoyed tending to the pond he built and his flowers. He loved spending winters in Arizona with his wife.
James is survived by his loving wife, Paula; his children, Michael Sobolik and his three Children and Mackenzie Kyle; stepdaughters, Barb Lewis of Muscatine and Angela Brown of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; step grandchildren, Kelsey (Jason) Cortez, Gavin (Melissa) Curtis, Megan Brown, and Clint Brown; step great grandchildren, Jocelyn, Gaige, McKenzey Curtis and Leah, Hayden, Kade, Vayda Ann Cortez; brothers, Michael (Vicki) Sobolik of Charles City, Iowa, and Jack (Galene) Sobolik of Mesa, Arizona; and special niece, Pam (Duane) Folz of Floyd, Iowa.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sue Kluwe.
