JAXSEN RHYETT KELLER

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa – Jaxsen Rhyett Keller, 5, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, at the University of Iowa.

Funeral Service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Dave Wittmann will officiate.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Casey, or Make A Wish in Jaxsen’s name. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Jaxsen was born on May 21, 2020, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Michael and Casey Keller.

Jaxsen enjoyed playing with blocks, magna tiles, camping, and gymnastics. He was a big Peppa Pig fan. He enjoyed doing flips in the living room with his sister, Bryleigh, and playing in his forest that had one tree with his brother, Greysen. He had just learned how to ride his bike without training wheels and was ready to get ramps to jump. He enjoyed building forts and watching his videos. He loved working in his office with his mom and cooking with his dad, wanted to be a chef just like him. He loved learning and all his teachers. Jaxsen never knew a stranger and was blunt and honest. He had a way of making you feel loved and could hurt your feelings all in one breath.

Jaxsen is survived by his parents; siblings, Greysen and Bryleigh Keller; aunts and uncles, Thomas and Ashley Keller, Ariana Rosee and Kevin Brain, and Brandan Mullink; grandparents, Melissa Zaehringer-Kemp and Ted Kemp, and Kerry Keller and Nana Joyce; honorary grandma, Cheryl Smith; and cousins, Baby Charlie and Ollie. 

He is preceded in death by his aunt, Madison Zaehringer on August 25, 2010, and grandma, Patti Keller on December 3, 2022.
