JOE McCLEARY

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Joe McCleary, 65, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, at his home.

Joe was born on April 27, 1959, in Los Angeles, California, the son of Gary Ronald McCleary and Peggy Rogers McDonald. He married Tiffany Howerton on August 27, 2011, in Muscatine. They later divorced.

Joe was a Peacetime Veteran.

He enjoyed being outside whether it was for fishing, boating, gardening, or hunting. He liked John Deere mowers but also had a creative side woodworking and making dream catchers.

Joe is survived by his children, Joshua McCleary of Des Moines, Zachary McCleary of Des Moines, Ashelli McCleary of Des Moines, Jade McCleary of Muscatine, Lexi McCleary of Muscatine, Ellie McCleary of Muscatine, and Charley McCleary of Muscatine; several grandchildren; mother; and siblings, Cindy Sanders and Shawn McCleary.

He is preceded in death by his father and brother, Gary McCleary.
