JOHN ‘JACK’ WALTER CROMER

MUSCATINE, Iowa – John ‘Jack’ Walter Cromer, 87, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, at his home.

Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Dan Schoepf will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Jack was born on March 25, 1938, in Wilton, the son of Wilson Leo and Bernice B. Lenker Cromer. He married Elizabeth Bell Peterson on August 28, 1959, in Muscatine. She preceded him in death on June 8, 2020.

Jack was a proud farmer. He farmed most of his life ad worked at CDS for many years. He was a member of the Eagle Lodge, Moose Lodge, and Grange Hall.

Jack enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, and spending time with friends and family. He enjoyed eating at his favorite restaurant. Jack and Liz enjoyed dancing together. He lived on the farm all of his life.

Jack is survived by his siblings, Jan Cromer, Danny (Judy) Cromer, and Cherolyn (Steve) Shannon all of Muscatine and his beloved friend, Tee.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Liz; parents; and brother, Leo Cromer.
